Mosiah 3:19

I decided to start memorizing some of my favorite scriptures. Here's the first one: "For the natural man is an enemy of God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things the Lord seeth to inflict on him, even as a child doth submit to his father."   Mosiah 3:19

Favorite quotes, songs, or scriptures

I don't really have a collection of things I turn to for comfort when I need uplifting. I think I should have some memorized that I can just think of when I'm frustrated with kids or down for some reason. I do love songs so I usually try and sing something in my head. I would love to know of what other people's favorite quotes, songs, or scriptures are when needing comfort or uplifting. If you could give me input I'd love it.  I actually have thought a lot of the song called, " Come, Come Ye Saints ." The words are written by William Clayton in 1846 they are the following: Come, come, ye saints, no toil nor labor fear; But with joy, wend your way. Though hard to you this journey may appear, Grace shall be as your day. ’Tis better far for us to strive Our useless cares from us to drive; Do this, and joy your hearts will swell All is well! All is well! Why should we mourn or think our lot is hard? ’Tis not so, all is right. Why should we think to earn a great re

How Important is Faith?

It seems like the Ensign has the right articles that I need to hear. Of course the conference ones are wonderful. I've never really read an entire Ensign magazine until recently. I didn't know how wonderful they were. There was actually an article this month called Coming to Know for Ourselves   by Elder Kenneth Johnson. He said some good things that have been on my mind lately. So you should read it when you get a chance. There is a convenient link to it.  It has been on mind lately that I need to know for sure what my faith is. It needs to be a faith that I have come to know myself and not borrowed from family or other church members. In Elder Johnson's article he says, "If our faith is rooted in the sandy soil of reason and logic, it will be swept away by a rising tide driven by the escalating winds of opposition. A faith founded in Jesus Christ and on the rock of revelation will endure through the fiercest storms of life (see Helaman 5:12)."  I didn't rea

Prophecy of Jesus Christ

Last night wasn't one of my happiest moments. I haven't had a good break from the kids until today so I needed to get my mind on something other than stresses. I decided to read King Benjamin's words in Mosiah of the Book of Mormon. I love reading his words that he spoke to all the people. I read Mosiah 3 where he talks about Jesus and how he will come to earth and do so many wonderful things. It is amazing that so many prophets can tell us what will happen and how to prepare ourselves for it.  Mosiah 3:9-11 9   And lo, he cometh unto his own, that salvation might come unto the children of men even through faith on his name; and even after all this they shall consider him a man, and say that he hath a devil, and shall scourge him, and shall crucify him. 10  And he shall arise the third day from the dead; and behold, he standeth to judge the world; and behold, all these things are done that a righteous judgment might come upon the children of men. 11  For behold, and also h
