Favorite quotes, songs, or scriptures

I don't really have a collection of things I turn to for comfort when I need uplifting. I think I should have some memorized that I can just think of when I'm frustrated with kids or down for some reason. I do love songs so I usually try and sing something in my head. I would love to know of what other people's favorite quotes, songs, or scriptures are when needing comfort or uplifting. If you could give me input I'd love it.

I actually have thought a lot of the song called, "Come, Come Ye Saints." The words are written by William Clayton in 1846 they are the following:

Come, come, ye saints, no toil nor labor fear;
But with joy, wend your way.
Though hard to you this journey may appear,
Grace shall be as your day.
’Tis better far for us to strive
Our useless cares from us to drive;
Do this, and joy your hearts will swell
All is well! All is well!

Why should we mourn or think our lot is hard?
’Tis not so, all is right.
Why should we think to earn a great reward,
If we now shun the fight?
Gird up your loins; fresh courage take;
Our God will never us forsake,
And soon we’ll have this tale to tell,
All is well! All is well!

We’ll find the place which God for us prepared,
In His house full of light,
Where none shall come to hurt or make afraid;
There the saints will shine bright.
We’ll make the air with music ring,
Shout praises to our God and King;
Above the rest these words we’ll tell,
All is well! All is well!

And should we die before our journey’s through,
Happy day! All is well!
We then are free from toil and sorrow, too;
With the just we shall dwell!
But if our lives are spared again
To see the saints their rest obtain,
O how we’ll make this chorus swell,
All is well! All is well!

This song has always touched me. It always amazes me of what the pioneers had to go through. It also helps know that I can go through many of my trials knowing that the Lord will always help me. If you want to listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing it then click this.

My favorite hymn is one that really inspires me, and lifts me up when I need it. It's "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" hymn 136. I used to go to empty classrooms at BYU when I was there and play it for myself. I just love it.

I love playing a lot of the hymns. They have a comforting safe feeling for me.

A New Favorite Scripture

The young women recite this scripture every Sunday along with their theme. I really like it so it's my new scripture to memorize. Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen. Mosiah 5:15

Prayer is Powerful

"When I pray with faith, I have the Savior as my advocate with the Father and I can feel that my prayer reaches heaven. Answers come. Blessings are received. There is peace and joy even in hard times." by President Henry B. Eyring

He Has A Plan

The pandemic of COVID-19 has wreaked havoc all over the world. My family is starting the fourth week since the state government put in force a Stay-At-Home order. We can only leave our homes if we have an "essential" job, if we need to buy essential items/food, or if we need to take care of someone. My five kids have gotten into a routine of waking up, doing school work, seminary work, reading, then free time. My husband is working from home and has multiple virtual calls throughout the day. It was a lot to get used to. Compared to many others, these changes have not been that hard on our family. Actually, most of the time I really enjoy everyone home. When they aren't using their limited electronic time, they have used their imaginations to think of creative things to do. Yes, I had to take one son to the ER last week because he fell and got a concussion, but we are truly very blessed. I know there are many that are suffering through this pandemic for many reasons.
